Thanksgiving Recipes from your River Oaks Apartments

  |     |   Uncategorized

Your favorite community of downtown Houston apartments is back with another blog post, and this week we’re talking about every food lover’s favorite holiday. Below, you’ll find a list of four of our favorite Thanksgiving dinner recipes. Whether you're hosting or heading to your parents’ place, the recipes on the list below should give you the knowledge you need to make the most of your Thanksgiving dinner.

Let’s get right the list, shall we? When you’re done reading through this post, please feel free to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at your community of River Oaks apartments.

Bacon-Wrapped Turkey Breast

Make sure you’ve got these ingredients so you can get started:

  • Turkey Breast

  • Oregano

  • Cumin

  • Spinach

  • Feta Cheese

  • Bacon

Turkey breast is a classic Thanksgiving dish, but we think it’s time to give it a makeover. Everything is better when you wrap bacon around it, including an oven-baked turkey breast that’s stuffed with feta cheese. Give this dish a shot on Turkey Day, residents!

Brussels Sprout Slaw

Make sure you’ve got these ingredients so you can get started:

  • Olive Oil

  • White Vinegar

  • Honey

  • Garlic

  • Mustard

  • Brussels Sprouts

  • Cherries

  • Almonds

  • Parmesan

The second dish on our list is a great option for anyone who feels like making something healthy for Thanksgiving. There will be plenty of high calorie dishes at the table, so you might as well switch things up by making something that’s diet-friendly. Don’t worry — this dish is still delicious despite the low calories count.

Butternut Squash Soup

Make sure you’ve got these ingredients so you can get started:

  • Butter

  • Onion

  • Celery

  • Potatoes

  • Chicken Stock

  • Black Pepper

  • Carrot

Nobody thinks to make soup for Thanksgiving dinner, but we think it’s high time that this dish made an appearance on the table. Butternut squash soup is perfect for Thanksgiving dinner because it’s just creamy enough to be filling, but not so heavy that you won’t have room for the other dishes on the table.

Spinach Mashed Potatoes

Make sure you’ve got these ingredients so you can get started:

Chopped Spinach

Potatoes

Butter

Sour Cream

Salt

Dill Weed

Cheddar Cheese

Mashed potatoes are a must at Thanksgiving, and you can make yours stand out from the rest of the dishes by adding spinach and cheddar cheese. Be sure to add plenty of butter and salt to ensure these potatoes are the best potatoes on the table.
